5 Keys to Skyrocket Your Success – Step 1

11 May

Without quality leads you’re not in business no matter what kind of business you have. That’s the first thing that should be on your to do list. There are several ways to collect leads; but I’m not gonna touch on that today. This is assuming that you’ve already got some. So let’s dig in

This is where most of us get it wrong in the beginning. We look around and see the bills piling up, the car falling apart, taxes eating up what little bit we get in our paychecks, food prices, gas prices, the list goes on and on so we think that if we just had more money…

Let me stop you right there.

On the surface, that’s true. If you got a big raise it would help you get caught up on some things that need attention sure; but would it free you in the long term? Does more money equal success?

When it comes to success there’s primarily two different schools of thought, the latter being the closest, “It’s not who you know, it’s what you know” and, “It’s not what you know, it’s who you know”.

Sounds confusing right? It’s not. They’re just two separate perspectives of the same problem, “getting ahead”.

Both have some merit. However to be honest, neither one will get you any further than the other. A more accurate statement would be , “It’s who knows you”.

Most successful people got where they are from other successful people pointing them in the right direction. Someone saw them working hard, applying due diligence and having a great attitude. Those are the key qualities of a good leader. Someone like that isn’t so much concerned with making a ton of money as they are with being a person of value. They’re like that because they know it’s not just about making money it’s about “why” they’re doing what they do. They know that to “make it” in this world, you need to be willing to serve. Service first, leadership second, that’s the natural order of things. If you don’t know how to follow orders with a great big smile, you’ll never amount to much. Just ask anyone who’s served in the military, attitude is everything.

It takes time and effort to get there. Most of us aren’t very good at it. That’s why you need to have a good “why”. Why are you working so hard? Why are you doing what you do? What motivates you to get up in the morning? Why even go to work?

See it’s not about money, it’s about mindset.

You can’t be selfless and selfish at the same time. It comes off disingenuous, as though you’ve got something up your sleeve, an angle. You seem like the kind of person that would do anything for more money. People aren’t going to trust your judgement if you’re consumed with the passion for more, just for the sake of having it. We all have bills, no matter the level of income.

To be truly valuable is more than being good at “what” you do, it’s the “why” that matters.
