Synopsis of the Subconscious

13 Jun

Give your plans some breathing room

When you finally decide to open up that business you’ve been talking about or go back to school for your degree, whatever, you need to get a running start, to create mental momentum. You’ve gotta get up ahead of your conscious mind. I know it sounds kind of crazy on the surface but hear me out.

Your brain is an amazing organ with multifaceted intent. There’s essentially three parts to it. The conscious mind, the subconscious and the unconscious mind. The conscious part is of course the one that you primarily use while you’re awake. It’s main function is to give you the ability to solve problems, formulate hypothesis and make choices, good or bad based on logic (perceived or otherwise) and rationale. The unconscious mind is systemic, physically speaking; in that it keeps your heart beating, it keeps your vital organs functioning, it causes you to pull your hand away from a hot surface so you don’t get burned, it doesn’t need your permission to do anything and it’s best to keep it that way.

You honestly don’t even need to think about it , it just does what it does.

The Subconscious Mind

The subconscious mind sits nestled in between these two. Even when you sleep, it’s still wide awake. In fact the more tired you are consciously, the more alert the subconscious actually becomes. It sort of has a mind of its own which is why we need to be careful about what we allow it to ingest. If you allow your subconscious mind to do the driving, you’ll never get anything out of this life but a world of hurt.

You need to beat it into submission, or it’ll manhandle you.

Christians describe it as the battle between the “spirit and the the flesh”. You know what you “want” to do, what you know you “should” do; but the power to do it just isn’t there. It’s why we believe that we all need a “Savior” in order to get to heaven. We’re terrible at living life at peak capacity, being “righteous” practically speaking. In fact when you do become a Christian it gets harder. It’s Gods way of showing us who’s boss. 😉

I’m not talking some pseudo spiritual type of “name it claim it” think yourself into the future gobbledygook. I’m just talking about a common sense approach to getting where you want to go, the fastest way possible.

Anyway back to my point lol.

If you want to get the maximum result in your personal pursuits, it’s best to visualize yourself where you’d like to be first, to “Be there before you’re there”. Take your subconscious mind and throw it out ahead of you, mentally. It’ll wait trust me, your mind likes closure. You may be like, “Okay this dude has lost it now”, keep reading. What you’re doing is creating a sort of loop, like when you’re watching something on TV and then just when it starts to get really interesting you see that dreaded, “To Be Continued”. Your subconscious mind wants closure, it searches for it.

It’s the part of your “schema” that advertisers (as well as and many politicians) aim for, it’s the part where they know if they can get a foothold, they can literally change your behavior over an extended period of time.

Yes, your mind is powerful, more powerful than you may realize, a terrible thing to waste. If you’d like to get the best possible results in your future endeavors, whatever that looks like to you, “Be there before you’re there” and you’ll get there . . . faster.

Thanks for stopping in.

Attraction Marketing Secrets

13 Jun

Stop Chasing People down!

I have a few personal convictions. Some of them are politically motivated, some of them are spiritual. At times I feel constrained to speak out and I will, most of the the time I just keep it to myself.

Some people may view that as compromise, I see it as giving people the freedom to think for themselves without my intruding into their personal lives.

In America we have the option to form our own opinions, we have the liberty to think for ourselves.

When I first started out hanging around social networks and forums, I saw it as a platform or a virtual soapbox. It gave us all, young and old, American or otherwise, the ability to speak about important issues, to people all over the world that we may or may not otherwise meet in person.

It was empowering!

Well, once the dust settled and everybody got comfortable, the dynamics changed. People that frequent sites like Facebook nowadays for instance, typically connect with others who are like minded and already have their own message so you’re basically just preaching to the choir if you know what I mean. Unless you reach out to people with differing viewpoints you’re just a little fish in a big pond, it’s not much of a “platform” anymore. In fact if you do attempt to “reach across” the pond to those with differing political or spiritual perspectives you’re more than likely just gonna get chased away.

As such I try to steer clear of negative discussion; but for the sake of example, the other day I had a Facebook meltdown. The Pentagon decided it was inappropriate for our military to read conservative books in uniform, you wanna talk about pissed? I won’t go into much of anything else you can look it up if you’d like; but it sent me reeling!

Guess what? It didn’t do a damn thing but make me feel better for about 30 minutes. I got a few likes, connected with several people who understood my frustration but did it make any real difference? Did it prompt change in Federal policy? Hardly. What it did do is reveal my own negative frustrations. I left the post, it is what it is; but it didn’t help one iota.

If you’re passionate about something don’t ever be afraid to speak your mind, just don’t do it on a regular basis if you’re an attraction marketer.

One more thing, possibly the most important thing of all.

If you’re trying to chase potential prospects or clients rather than just allowing your own confidence in the product/service/training you have to offer, you won’t do anything but push people away. In fact the more you chase them, the further they’ll run (trust me on this). No matter how awesome of a salesman you think you are you’ll just end up frustrated.

Imagine a butterfly resting comfortably, sucking the delicious nectar from the tender bulb of a flower in bloom. The sun is shining, the birds are singing, it’s so happy just sitting there absorbing the nutrients it came to enjoy.

Then here you come running after it with a bucket full of nectar in one hand, clutching a net in the other trying to convince it to get in. That thing would take off faster than you could blink! It would see you coming a mile away!

Now imagine the same butterfly, same beautiful scene and you, sneaking up trying to grab it by it’s wings. It would sit there for a little while, taking in as much of that sweet, tasty nectar it could, watching you out of the corner of it’s..er..eyes just waiting to see what you were gonna do. You may trick it into trusting you just long enough for you to grab it; but it’s doubtful.

If you did get it, the only thing on it’s mind would be trying to escape.

That’s not how sales is done.

Tips For Maximizing Your Website’s Presence For SEO –

by | on June 8, 2013

I had the final page all set and ready to roll; but then I read this blog today from a fellow member and had to go lookin’ for my socks. They were completely blown off!

This guy is a tremendous resource, I’ll be peeking in on his blogs from time to time believe it. Deep, rich content, it commanded my respect.

Big Ups Joseph!

“It is important that you have a plan for search engine optimization if you are a webpage owner. Search engines are one of the most popular methods potential customers will use to access your website. For this reason, you must set your sights on having your website show up fairly high in search engine listings. The tips from this article will show you how.

The correct anchor text is very important when linking internally on your website. If the text you use is generic, like “click here,” you are missing out on a great opportunity to optimize your site a little more. Utilizing the correct keywords in your anchor text will not go unnoticed by those search engine spiders.

You can help to maximize your SEO by linking to valid, useful information outside of your site. This should be a fundamental part of your overall linking strategy. Search engines value off-site links more than internal links to your own pages. Look for options that offer linking opportunities to go back to your page, so your ranking and your traffic can increase.

Optimize your site for the search engines by gearing it towards your targeted niche and keywords. Continue to add content that focus on your main and long-tail keywords, as well as articles that are relevant. Remember to include keywords in your image tags and links as well. Try to place keywords in other areas with text to increase the relevance of your content.

Your site should be simple to read. The clearer and more functional you make your site, the higher the ranking your site will be on search engines. These functions, along with clarity and functionality, will optimize your website for search engines and readers.

When you make your site better for the search engines, you make your site better for potential customers. Many business are unaware of this fact.

Search engine results can be improved in a number of ways. When the system is efficient, results will be more relevant. This boosted performance will create a more satisfactory experience for your users.

Try to be creative and inclusive in the descriptions that you use with meta tags. That’s where it will make a difference, more so than in the content. The tags should be accurate and entice people to click on them.

Before starting, research your keywords. Learn what keywords you should be focusing on as you put together your site’s content. You can find out which keywords people search the most. In order to appear more on quality search engines, be sure to use this knowledge you have obtained.

The correct density of keywords is essential in SEO work. Any keyword content on an optimized web page should not exceed 20 percent of the total page.

Doing this will improve the ranking that search engines give to your site. Meta descriptions are best thought of as a request for action, as they appear beneath the hyperlink for the website in most search engines. Find out if your content management system will allow you to edit your meta description for your page.

Adding a site map to your website is a highly important search engine optimization step. Search engine spiders will be able to access your content much easier with a text based map of your site. The larger the site, the more maps it needs. Try not post more than 100 links to a map.

You should think the way a customer thinks when you are trying to figure out what keywords will be the most effective. Figure out which ordinary, everyday terms people actually use when they search.

A good rule on META description tags that you can do is to be sure that every page is unique. Don’t use identical meta tags for different pages or you’ll hurt your search rankings.

Help drive traffic to your website through search engines. Making your website search engine spider friendly is imperative for success. You must add text to all of your images, so that search engine spiders will be able to see them. Make sure the description you give is keyword rich.

SEO for your business site does not need to be complicated or difficult. All that is required is some focus, and a willingness to adapt your approach. Start today with the advice given in this article, and you will see your SEO efforts pay.”

Embrace the Pain

10 Jun

Most of us see pain as something to avoid like the plague.  It’s as if the way to true fulfillment is to get as far away from it as possible.

I beg to differ.

Pain is your friend

When you think of pain, does it hurt?  Is it a topic you’d rather not talk about?  That’s how the majority of Americans see pain.  We’ve been conditioned that way by Hollywood, ad agencies, schools, politicians, many times even our own parents.

Pain is a good thing

Pain is a good thing.  It actually serves a purpose.  This world was designed in such a way as to “cause” pain for every living creature; but why would a loving “God” facilitate such an environment, or if you’re not religious, then why would the “Universe” be so cruel?

Pain let’s you know when something’s wrong and it also strengthens resolve, character, and stamina.  That to me sounds like a good friend rather than a sworn enemy.

With all of those awesome benefits of pain, isn’t it weird that we try to avoid it whenever and wherever possible? I’m not necessarily looking for it lol; but when we have to face it, why wouldn’t we use it for all it’s worth?

We’d rather be comfortable than free, we’d rather be at ease than at odds, we’d rather enjoy pleasure than learn how to effectively absorb our pain.

In short, we’re spoiled rotten.

I’ve never been outside of the country; but one thing I’m becoming painfully aware of the older I get is this . . . we’ve forgotten how to suffer.  I hope that soon we’ll begin to understand collectively, if you’ll pardon the phrase, the importance of using pain as a springboard for growth rather than a excuse for apathy.

When 9/11 happened for instance, we all came together like we hadn’t done since the eighties.  We volunteered, we prayed for each other, we donated and sacrificed, a lot of us even laid down our lives!

Think of all the good that came out of the intense pain we all felt!

So the next time you get annoyed, just ask yourself these questions, “Why am I getting upset?” and “What can I actually learn from this?”

Thanks for stopping in.

How to Form a Mastermind Alliance by Napolean Hill

How to form a mastermind alliance

Mastermind Alliance Basics

* The first step is to adopt a Definite Purpose as an objective to be attained by the alliance, choosing individual members whose education, experience and influence are such as to make them of the greatest value in achieving that purpose.

* There isn’t any use in forming a Master Mind Alliance just to have someone to chat with. It will soon play out if you don’t have a strong motive behind it, and it’s up to you to plant that motive in the minds of the group members.Mastermind Alliance

* Your allies for this group should be chosen for their ability to help you get to where you are going. Do not choose people simply because you know them and like them. I have found out by experience that merely because you like a person is no reason whatsoever to have him as a member of your economic Master Mind Alliance. It is all right to have such a person in your social or purely personal alliance, where his contribution may simply be this very friendship you appreciate.

* You should make a careful analysis of your purpose and list the items you will need for its attainment and then systematically go about supplying the links with which to forge the chain. Each member of the alliance should make some definite, distinctive, unique contribution to the over all picture.

* In making your selection of allies for this economic group, you may have to be a little “cold blooded” at first. It is no easy job to select the right members. You may have to choose and eliminate until you get the right ones. This is costly in time and money. You should be guided in your choice by the things you need which you do not already have. If it is money you need to finance the deal, you must find a person who has the money to invest. No matter what nice people you know who would like to work with you, if they don’t have any money they cannot really make the particular contribution to the alliance you need. No-you must find a person with the money and cultivate his willingness to cooperate, by showing him the opportunities to make a profit from the investment.

* Of course, you don’t take the first person who answers the major requirement, unless he also possesses the other necessary attributes. The qualifications of membership in a Master Mind Alliance are very exacting. Consider each candidate for membership in the light of his ability, his personality, and his willingness to cooperate with you. I cannot overemphasize the necessity for harmony, if it is going to be a successful organization.

* Determine what appropriate benefit each member may receive in return for his cooperation in the alliance. At this point review the nine basic motives which I termed the alphabet of success.

Napoleon Hills 14 Secrets to Success

1. Render more service than I ask people to pay for.

2. I engage in no transaction, intentionally, that does not benefit all whom it affects.

3. I make no statements that I do not believe to be true.

4. I have a sincere desire in my heart to be of useful service to the greatest possible number of people.

5. I like people better than I like money

6. I am doing my best to live, as well as to teach my own philosophy of success.

7. I accept no favors from anyone without giving favors in return.

8. I ask nothing of any person without having a right to that for which I ask.

9. I enter into no arguments with people over trivial matters.

10. I spread the sunshine of optimism and good cheer wherever and whenever I can.

11. I never flatter people for the purpose of gaining their confidence.

12. I sell counsel and advice to other people, at a modest price, but never offer free advice.

13. Which teaching others how to achieve success, I have demonstrated that I can make my philosophy work for myself as well, thus “practicing what I preach”

14. I am so thoroughly sold on the work in which I am engaged that my enthusiasm over it becomes contagious and others are influenced by it.

From Napoleon Hills book The Master Key to Success.

Base your appeals for cooperation on one or more of these motives. I can tell you ahead of time which motive will have the greatest appeal and I’ll bet you can guess it yourself.

* You’re right! It’s the desire for material wealth, or profit. If you make a profit, be willing to divide it with those who help you. Be not only fair, but generous with them, and the more generous you are with them, the more help you will get from them. Remember the principle of going the extra mile. What a pity that not all businessmen know about that! One of my purposes in life is to see that they learn about it.

* Establish a definite place where the members of the alliance will meet, have a definite plan, and arrange a definite time for the mutual discussion of the plan. You will recall the importance of a plan in connection with your Definite Major Purpose. Well, this is the time and place to reveal that plan to those who are your friends and harmonious associates, who will have a community of interest in the success of the venture. You may think your plan is very good, but before you get through discussing it with your allies you will undoubtedly modify it until you hit upon the perfect plan.

* When you have established rapport between your mind and the minds of others in your Master Mind Alliance, you will find that ideas will flow into the minds of each of the members and likewise into your own mind. When the Master Mind is in effect, it produces ideas that would not come to your mind alone. I have had that experience many times when sitting in on the many groups of which I am a member on a consulting basis.

* The Round Table discussion will be the place where everyone meets, and where each member may speak with confidence. They all see what’s on the table. You have no secrets in such a group, which results from the care with which you select members.

* It is important that frequent and regular contacts be made between the members. Indefiniteness on this point, or utter neglect, will bring defeat. You must keep in almost continuous contact with the other minds of the group if you are to get the full benefit of them. Meetings should be scheduled often, and telephone numbers exchanged, so that it is possible within a few minutes to discuss any sudden development with the group

* It is the burden of the leader of the alliance to see that harmony among all the members is maintained and that action is continuous in the pursuance of the Definite Major Objective. Action or work is the connecting link between desire, plan, and fulfillment.

* The watchword of the alliance should be Definiteness of Purpose, Positiveness of Plan, backed by continuous perfect harmony. The major strength of such an alliance consists in the perfect blending of the mind of all members. Jealousy, envy or friction, as well as lagging of interest on the part of any member, will bring defeat unless he is removed at once.

* The number of Individuals in an alliance should be governed entirely by the nature and magnitude of the purpose to be attained. If you are going after a purpose comparable to that of Mr. Edison’s you will require a large number of persons with special talents and training. A lesser undertaking will call for a correspondingly smaller group. In general, it is better to have as few members as possible, because it will be that much easier to maintain harmony among them. Quite often a man will need only a really cooperative alliance with his wife in order to achieve the purpose he feels inspired to achieve.

* If a man cannot find that harmony which I have mentioned as being desirable between man and wife, it is possible for a man to form a purely economic alliance with a woman other than a wife.

If you just wanna be comfortable, you’re about to get left behind.  If you think you know it all already, you’re in for a big surprise.  If you’re a people pleaser, you’d might as well hang it up; but if you wanna win, if you want true success like you want your next breath..

Why can’t I become wealthy?

10 Jun

The secret to becoming wealthy is in you

There’s an awful lot of hate surrounding the subject of getting rich.  Don’t believe me?

Read on.

If you were in a restaurant and somebody stood up and made the declaration, “I just wanted to say publicly that today I’ve resolved to start eating healthier, getting enough sleep, plenty of exercise and drinking at least 8-10 glasses of water a day”.  You might think it was a little strange at first; but you and everybody there would more than likely at least think to yourself, “Good call”.

Say someone else stood up and said, “I’ve decided to stop watching TV, I’ve been putting too much garbage in my mind lately.  I’m choosing, here and now, to begin reading more and listening to positive information instead of wasting my time sitting on the couch in front of the “boob tube””.

Again you may be thinking, “Okay this is a little weird but cool”.  Some people may even applaud.

Say another person stood up and declared, “I’m making an announcement as well, I’m gonna start spending more time with my family.  I’ve been working too many hours and I can see that it’s negatively affecting my children and my spouse so I’ve resolved to change my behavior from this day forward”.  By this time everybody there would probably be fully engaged and more than likely participating in applause.

Now, say with all of that support, enthusiasm and excitement someone else stood up and said, “This is great, what a wonderful evening this is turning out to be, I’ve made a decision as well!”  “Today my wife and I have decided to start thinking of ways to become rich, so that we won’t have to worry anymore about paying the bills, we can pay off the house, we can travel together wherever we want with whoever we want to go with for as long as we want.”  “Today I’m declaring financial freedom!”

You can almost hear their words drop on the floor, why do you think that is?

People are scared of money.  That’s why the average person doesn’t get wealthy.  Let’s take a step further and talk about free enterprise for a minute.

Say you owned a $60.00 Monteverde Arista 0.7 Fine Point pen that you bought at Office Depot and I offered you $500.00 for it?  You’d probably ask “why would you wanna pay that much for this pen?  I just bought it for $60.00 at Office Depot.”  Say I told you that I collected pens and that I’d been looking everywhere for that specific model but they were sold out.

Some people would say, “Here man you take the pen, I don’t want your money”  Some would say, “Just give me the $60.00 that I paid for it and it’s yours.”

What would you say?

The fact is, that stupid pen would be worth $500.00 to me otherwise I’d have never offered you the money.  Maybe I was trying to be fair because I knew it was gonna increase in value next week, maybe it would make my collection more valuable or appealing to me personally, maybe I just wanted to bless somebody.  Regardless it would be a fair exchange because I paid you what I wanted to pay you.

If You tried to get $500.00 for it from someone that really didn’t have that kind of money knowing that you only paid $60.00 you’d be trying to get rich “at the expense” of someone else.  That would be wrong; but if someone offered it to you, apparently it would be worth it to them.  You may even wanna say, “Give me your number and let me think about it”, then go home and do a bit of research to see what kind of pen you actually had lol.

Even the phrase “get rich” has negative connotations in our society; but if you ask anybody if they wanna be “financially independent” or if they would turn down a huge raise at work, what do you think they’d say?

Whatever you like, you have plenty of.  If you like art, you’ve got it in your home.  If you like cars, you’ve got cars.

I know this lady who loves to collect pigs, not real pigs lol; but she’s got pig rugs in her kitchen, pig figurines, pig towels, pig wallpaper, pots and pans, pig range covers, every kind of pig decoration you can think of, she’s probably got it.  My sister loves strawberries, my wife loves those french chefs, some people collect stamps lol.

The fact is, we don’t like money because for whatever reason we see it as evil; but we work our butts off to get as much of it as we can, kinda weird huh?

Our way of looking at money is twisted.  Most of us are actually pushing it away and trying to get it at the same time, it’s sort of like chasing two rabbits, you won’t end up with neither one you’ll just drive yourself nuts!  Are you starting to get the picture?

The bottom line is this, if you want to be rich, make friends with money.  Money is just a tool, like a gun, or a hammer.  It’s the “love” of money that is the root of “all kinds” of evil, not money itself.  The root of all evil, is pride.

Thanks for stopping in.

Freedom is the goal

3 Jun

What’s really going on?

Is freedom finally dead?

I just watched an inspirational video, it kinda put me in sort of a melancholy mood lol.

Steve Jobs was a visionary. He was the type that didn’t let anything stand in the way of his dreams. Apple was his life, his aim, his purpose; but when he was faced with his own mortality, it got him thinking. It helped him put things in their proper perspective.

All of us are gonna come to that point, someplace in our lives. What a shame it would be to have never had the time to say what needed to be said, to never have had the opportunity to be where we know we should have been because we were married to our careers.

Nobody has ever said on their death bed, “I wish I could just spend a little more time at the office”.

If you went to the doctors office one day and found out that you only had a few months, weeks or days to live, what would you be thinking? What would be going through your mind? I know what’s gonna be running through mine, “What kind of an impact have I made?” “Did I really make a difference?” “Have I said what needed to be said?”

All the things I should have done.

Of course we’ll say, “Well, I had to be at work” and we’ll explain it away justifying all the time we spent away from our loved ones, all the times we didn’t make a consorted effort to care for those around us. We’ll make the same excuses everybody else does because the majority of us have been conditioned to think and act like there are no other real options, like what we’re doing is all there is.

It’s just not true.

The problem is most of us have crappy attitudes and the wealthy, successful people in the world that understand the importance of keeping a positive mindset just don’t have the time or the energy to put up with it. It’s our fault.

If you want an escape hatch, click here. Don’t end your life in regret.

There’s a way out, take it.
